Custodian

The Custodian plays a critical role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for staff, students, families, and visitors. This position is responsible for performing daily cleaning and sanitation of classrooms, offices, restrooms, common areas, and exterior grounds, in accordance with health and safety regulations. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and takes pride in their work. The Custodian also assists with basic maintenance tasks, event setups, and responds to immediate cleaning needs as they arise during the day. This is a full time, in-person, Monday through Friday position, 40 hours per week in Camden, NJ. Job Description | Essential Functions • Maintain buildings in a way to assure a clean, safe, attractive environment with properly functioning systems • Cleans and assists with upkeep of the facilities • Troubleshoots issues to determine necessary repairs • Perform manual repairs when necessary (repair door locks, faucet leaks etc.) • Conduct preventative maintenance and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry, landscaping etc.) • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets etc.) • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed • Other duties as assigned Competencies & Qualifications • High school diploma or equivalent • Ability to follow given instructions • Knowledge of general maintenance processes, and repairs • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices • Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills • Excellent organizational and time management skills • Must be willing to work in different work environments and must be flexible Job Type: Full-time Pay: $15.50 - $17.00 per hour Expected hours: 40 per week Benefits: • 401(k) • Dental insurance • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
