Responsibility Summary To maintain the ChicagoCAC as a clean and safe environment for all clients, employees, partners and guests. Primary Responsibilities: • Clean building floors by sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, or vacuuming them. • Gather and empty trash. • Clean, and supply restrooms. • Clean and supply kitchens. • Clean and polish furniture and fixtures. • Clean windows, glass partitions and mirrors. • Dust furniture, walls, machines and equipment. • Back up to Maintenance Engineer. • Train new custodians • Track supply inventory. • Maintain clean and organized work area. • Special cleaning as assigned. • Display professional demeanor. • Participate in local networking and training opportunities. • Wash towels. • Perform other duties as assigned. Discretion The Custodian has a low-level range of discretion and independent decision-making. Supervisory Responsibilities None Relationships The custodian works closely with the Director of Facilities & Support Services, and Support Services Team. Qualifications A strong janitorial background with 3+ years’ experience in office cleaning is required. Must be able to lift 25 lbs. or more, ability to climb ladder and operate mid-sized equipment. Based on funding and internal equity, the starting salary for this position may fall between the minimum and midpoint of the listed range.
