Job Overview We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Custodian to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining cleanliness and orderliness in various facilities, ensuring a safe and pleasant environment for all occupants. This role requires a proactive approach to cleaning and maintenance tasks, with an emphasis on quality and efficiency. Responsibilities • Perform routine cleaning tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming of floors and surfaces. • Maintain cleanliness in restrooms, break rooms, and common areas by sanitizing fixtures and replenishing supplies. • Conduct floor care activities such as buffing, waxing, and stripping as needed to ensure high-quality appearance. • Handle industrial cleaning tasks in various settings while adhering to safety protocols. • Assist with facilities maintenance duties including minor repairs and upkeep of equipment. • Respond promptly to cleaning requests or emergencies to maintain facility standards. • Collaborate with team members to ensure all areas are clean and well-maintained. • Report any maintenance issues or safety hazards to the appropriate personnel. Qualifications • Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred; commercial cleaning experience is a plus. • Familiarity with floor care techniques and equipment operation is essential. • Knowledge of residential painting or porter experience is advantageous. • Strong attention to detail with the ability to work independently or as part of a team. • Excellent time management skills to prioritize tasks effectively. • Ability to lift moderate weights and perform physical tasks throughout the shift. • A commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for all facility users.
