Custodian

Summary The custodian is in charge of keeping our facilities and grounds clean and sanitary. The position calls for a basic understanding of cleaning techniques, suitable in making use of cleaning agents. Cleaning the restrooms, sweeping the floors, and other duties removing rubbish to guarantee a clean environment for the building's residents. Essential Functions • Cleans allocated areas on a regular basis (e.g., sweeps, vacuums, empty trash cans) to make sure the facility is kept up to organizational and departmental standards. • Cleans, disinfects, and restocks restrooms. • Responds to calls for service as assigned (e.g. stock restroom with disposables, setting up rooms or event). • Uses motorized cleaning equipment, such as a floor scrubber or power washer, to carry out cleaning tasks as needed. • Containment and removal of hazardous materials and biohazardous waste. • Reports potential safety risks, defective machinery, or building issues. • Removes waste and transport to appropriate disposal area while identifying proper waste streams (i.e. regulated medical, recycle, solid, and hazardous). • Fill out work order forms promptly. • On time completion of assigned training and policies. • Performs other duties as assigned Qualifications • High school diploma or GED • Knowledge of standard cleaning methods and procedures • Knowledge of occupational hazards safety rules • Basic use of MS Office • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment • Able to work with a flexible schedule to meet department needs • Ability to interpret and comprehend environmental service procedures. The Pay Rate for this role is based on several factors including the candidate's experience, qualifications, and internal equity. The initial offer usually falls between the minimum and midpoint of the applicable salary range.Pay Band N3:$20.00 – $23.44 (Midpoint: $20.77)
