Our Facilities Services Department, has an outstanding opportunity for a Custodian - Nights.Under general supervision, perform custodial tasks to maintain cleanliness and care of Campus facilities within assigned areas.
β’ Clean and sanitize restrooms and fixtures in accordance with established procedures and standards; refill restroom dispensers;
β’ Clean whiteboards and erasers; dust and wipe furniture; sweep, mop or vacuum floors; empty wastebaskets, trash, and recycle containers; empty and clean ashtrays and cigarette urns; replace light bulbs;
β’ Set-up and take down equipment, such as whiteboards and easels, and furnishings, such as folding chairs and tables needed for meetings, classrooms, conferences, and events;
β’ Strip, clean, buff and apply finish to floors; use high-speed floor buffers/polishers; vacuum and clean carpets;
β’ Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools such as vacuum, broom, mop, squeegee, and scrubber etc. Be able to do work above 10 feet with tall ladders for the cleaning and general maintenance of light bulb replacement and window washing;
β’ Secure building when facilities are not in use by checking for unlocked doors and windows; report unauthorized occupants;
β’ Follow written and/or verbal instructions regarding assigned duties, plus the use of chemicals, supplies and equipment;
β’ Comply with safety policies and procedures in emergencies such as fire or medical;
β’ Report the need for repair and/or maintenance of equipment or the facility;
β’ May move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools;
β’ May operate University vehicles as required.
β’ Perform related duties as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Physical ability to do required work.
Equivalent education and/or experience may substitute for minimum qualifications except when there are legal requirements, such as a license, certification, and/or registration.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
β’ Ability to provide excellent customer service.
β’ Ability to work with a diverse constituency.
β’ Must be able to follow written and/or verbal instructions and communicate in English regarding the use of chemical, supplies, and equipment; comply with safety policies and procedures. High school diploma or G.E.D. or equivalent certified education level.
β’ Basic computer skills
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
β’ This position is designated as one that performs an essential function. This means that the positionβs incumbent must continue to report to work as directed in the event that the University suspends operations because of severe weather, natural disaster, or other emergency condition.
β’ Must be able to clean & disinfect with various cleaners, chemicals, disinfectants and cleaning cloths.
β’ Must be able to walk constantly.
β’ Ability to secure valid CPR, AED, and First Aid certificate within six months of hire.
Compensation, Benefits and Position Details
Pay Range Minimum:$44,256.00 annual
Pay Range Maximum:$49,740.00 annual
