Job Overview: Live By The Sword Tattoo is looking for a dedicated and reliable custodian to maintain the cleanliness of our 3 shop locations. The internal appearance of our facilities reflects on our business. It is important for a custodian, or janitor, to be careful and thorough in working, cleaning, and tidying the premises. The ideal candidate will have great physical endurance to cover a large space. They will also be experienced in a custodian role focused on consistent cleanliness of our shops with a keen eye for detail and diligence that is imperative in custodial maintenance jobs. Responsibilities • Ensure spaces are prepared for the day by taking out any leftover trash, replacing garbage bags, and tidying and dusting all surface areas. • Sweep and mop floors prior to 10:45am to ensure that there is no disruption to the client experience. • Sweep and vacuum carpets by the entry way in all shops. • Refill cleaning bottles for next shift cleaners, and maintain inventory of cleaning supplies • Wash and sanitize toilets and sinks, and restock disposables (e.g. soap,toilet paper, c-folds) • Wipe all mirrors and windows • Wipe down all light fixtures and ceiling fans to ensure that they are free of dust build up. • Undertake occasional custodial and janitorial tasks (shoveling snow from the sidewalk, lifting heavy items, moving chairs etc.) • Conduct a weekly deep clean for all locations that would include such duties as moving shop furniture to remove dust, hair, and buildup around the practitioner’s work stations, in addition to all breakroom areas. • Uphold custodial best practices while adhering to safety protocols at all times. • Support facilities maintenance by reporting any repairs or maintenance needs to management promptly. Experience • Proven experience as custodian, janitor or in a similar role • Knowledge of use and maintenance of industrial cleaning equipment and appliances • Knowledge of safe disposal of chemical liquids and other hazardous components • Familiarity with handyman practices • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high standards of cleanliness. • Good physical condition and strength • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while managing time effectively.
