Job Description
Position Summary:
The custodian is responsible for the cleanliness and general maintenance of the PACE program offices. The individual filling this position will ensure the site is clean, safe and presentable at all times, cleaning all program offices, hallways, and common areas.
Essential Functions:
• Report all major damages to the Supervisor and Program Director, and assist as needed with repairs.
• Clean, dust, and wipe furniture; sweep, mop, or vacuum floors; empty/clean wastebaskets and trash containers;
• Wipe down window interior and blinds throughout the office.
• Assist with general maintenance tasks including tidying up the lobby area, lifting heavy items, moving chairs, replacing light bulbs etc.
• Assist with receiving deliveries including supplies, equipment and furniture.
• Move furniture, equipment, supplies and tools on an incidental basis.
• Attend to emergencies when necessary. Attend safety meetings and other related meetings.
• Handle recycling materials. Sort and take out trash and recycling according to the pickup schedule.
• Assist with inventory control and security.
• Assist with repair services, i.e hanging of information boards, office signs, building office furniture.
• Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools; buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washers, high speed buffers and vacuums, brooms, mops, and squeegees for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.
• Communicate effectively with maintenance supervisor and other program staff as needed regarding janitorial concerns.
• Have essential physical and mental capabilities in the following: Interpersonal skills, memory, attention to detail, following directions, comprehension, calculating, reading, writing, speaking, evaluating, mathematics, organizing and innovation.
• Perform related duties as required.
Requirements:
• Some High School and a minimum 1-year relevant experience. High School Diploma/HSE highly preferred.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Salary $37,000
