Job Description

Position Description Responsible for receiving, logging and tracking all maintenance-related calls into the request log, coordinating appropriate staff response, maintaining logs for daily distribution. Assists in ordering supplies and parts from vendors. Performs weekly inspections of all buildings under facilities management for the janitorial, vending, and water contract deficiencies. Supervises custodian schedules, rotations and activities. Trains new custodians, assists custodians in building cleaning and light grounds maintenance. Oversees vendor deliveries. Assigns and assists with supply deliveries. Helps facilitate all emergency responses for facilities during event(s)/disaster(s)/pandemic(s). Duties and Responsibilities: • Logs all maintenance-related calls into the request log, coordinates maintenance schedules with the appropriate staff or contractor, and maintains logs for daily distribution. Assists in ordering supplies and parts from vendors. • Performs weekly inspections of all buildings under facilities management for conformance to janitorial standards, vending, and water contracts. Reports hazardous conditions such as fires, vandalism, burglary and other emergency situations, including items needing repair. • Trains and assists custodians with interior and exterior cleaning and maintenance. • Submits daily facility maintenance and operations reports. • Oversees vendor deliveries. • Assists and assigns custodians with making deliveries of office and cleaning supplies.Other Duties: This Job Description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this position. Requirements Education and Experience: • High School Diploma or equivalent from an accredited institution. • Two (2) years custodial and clerical experience. • A valid Texas driver's license and good driving record.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to supervise in a team environment. • Ability to establish and maintain working relationships with others. • Ability to deal constructively with conflict situations. • Strong attention to detail. • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to prepare detailed spreadsheets. • Ability to prioritize work. • Ability to multi-task. • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing. • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. • Working knowledge of proper cleaning tools, equipment and materials. • Knowledge of the operation and maintenance of cleaning equipment. Physical Demands: Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Above average physical conditioning is required to be able to walk, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and stretch NOTE:Qualifying education, experience, knowledge, and skills must be documented on your job application. Hours may vary based on business needs of the department. Must be able to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as necessary. Work Environment: Office environment, outdoor environment, exposure to inclement weather or various temperature changes, possible exposure to loud noises in the environment, possible exposure to dangerous chemicals. Disposing of hazardous materials (ex. bodily fluids). Reporting Relations: Reports To Position: Facilities manager and assistant manager Supervises Positions: Custodians Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards.
