The Facility's Management Division plays a critical role in keeping Department Facilities operating safely for staff and visitors as it oversees the upkeep and maintenance for over 250 Department Facilities Citywide. FMD manages multiple facility renovations that support Department initiatives and unit relocations. FMD is comprised of uniform, civilian trades, professional and administrative staff. The job duties of the title includes (but not limited to) the following: • Supervise a small number of cleaners, performing such tasks as sweeping, dusting, mopping, polishing, waxing, gathering and disposing of refuse, cleaning and removing snow from walks, maintaining lawns and shrubs; • Arrange for and may assist in the moving of furniture or equipment; • Keep inventories and other records; • Prepare reports on work activities and may perform the duties of subordinates as needed. WORK SCHEDULE: Sunday to Thursday 0600x1430; or Tuesday to Friday 1200x2030 • The schedules may vary. WORK LOCATION: Custodial Services Section - Citywide CUSTODIAN - 80609 Minimum Qualifications Two years of full-time satisfactory experience in the cleaning and maintenance of buildings. To be assigned to Assignment Level II, candidates must have three years of satisfactory experience as described in the "Qualification Requirements" above. To be assigned to Assignment Level III and IV candidates must have four years of satisfactory experience as described in the "Qualification Requirements" above. Preferred Skills - Demonstrate strong and thoroughness in all aspects of daily work - Must be a team player with an energetic positive disposition and - Able to identify deadlines and work effectively in a pressurized environment. Residency Requirement New York City residency is generally required within 90 days of appointment. However, City Employees in certain titles who have worked for the City for 2 continuous years may also be eligible to reside in Nassau, Suffolk, Putnam, Westchester, Rockland, or Orange County.
