Custodian

The Custodian in a production setting is responsible for maintaining cleanliness and sanitation standards across the manufacturing floor, breakrooms, restrooms, locker rooms, offices, and other assigned areas. This position ensures a clean, safe, and organized environment that complies with company policies and regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, GMP, or HACCP if applicable). **Shift work may be required (e.g., day, night, or swing shift) and occasional weekends or overtime based on production needs Key Responsibilities: • Clean and sanitize production floors, equipment exteriors, common areas, and restrooms on a regular schedule. • Sweep, mop, vacuum, and scrub surfaces to remove dust, debris, and residue. • Empty trash bins, dispose of waste, and replace liners in all designated areas. • Restock cleaning and restroom supplies as needed. • Follow all safety and sanitation procedures, including use of proper PPE and cleaning chemicals. • Respond promptly to spills and contamination hazards to maintain a safe work environment. • Report maintenance issues (e.g., leaks, equipment malfunctions) to supervisors. • Support periodic deep cleaning of production areas during scheduled shutdowns or maintenance windows. • Assist with setting up or cleaning before/after special company events or audits. • Maintain janitorial equipment and storage areas in clean and working condition. • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Previous custodial or janitorial experience in an industrial or manufacturing setting is preferred. • Knowledge of industrial cleaning practices, tools, and safety procedures. • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision. • Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand, walk, bend, or stoop for extended periods. • Willingness to work in varying temperatures, noise levels, or around machinery. • Ability to read and follow written instructions and safety guidelines.
