Position Description
Our Customer Service Representatives are responsible for responding to customer needs and inquiries, order flow processing and review, customer claims, data input, and accuracy of customer information in computer systems. This position reports to the Customer Service Manager.
Responsibilities
Customer Service
β’ Handle inbound and outbound calls regarding: order entry, damage/shipping claims, catalog requests and general questions.
β’ Redirect incoming calls to appropriate departments as required.
β’ Send/receive emails to customers and sales reps to communicate order issues, policies and pertinent information.
β’ Obtain authorizations and process credit card payments.
β’ Process backorders
β’ Handle freight/merchandise claims with common carriers (such as FedEx)
β’ Work with top accounts to ensure continued good relationships
β’ Maintain daily order flow (via EDI) to our Kansas Distribution Center
Data Processing
β’ Order entry or download of purchase orders from trade shows, sales software, fax, and e-mail.
β’ Create new Customer accounts and input required data and maintain such data.
β’ Customer/Prospect database maintenance
β’ Log completed activities in our contact relationship management software
Personal Skills
β’ Positive Attitude and willingness to learn.
β’ Excellent telephone skills displaying a professional customer service attitude.
β’ Ability to multi-task and prioritize workload.
β’ Organized and detail-oriented.
β’ Must be PC literate with working knowledge of MS Office, including Word and Excel.
β’ Type 50+ WPM accurately.
β’ Experience with Microsoft Dynamics - Great Plains or other ERP system is a plus.
