Advance Medical Equipment is a Veteran owned Durable Medical Equipment company that prioritizes it's people, with an intense focus on being the leader for providing medical supplies with compassion and urgency to the immobile, elderly, and underserved. We are opening our first retail location near Old Town Chicago, and seeking a Customer Service Representative who will assist with in-person purchases of medical equipment, as well as items that will be billed to insurance and delivered by technician. The ideal candidate for this position needs to be self-motivated, knowledgeable of Google and Microsoft products, and have a history of providing unmatched customer service. You will be joining a small, but growing, team consisting of customers service, sales, billing, and delivery specialists. Onboarding training for a new hire will be for 2-3 months at our existing office in Pilsen, with a permanent move to the retail location opening sometime around October.
Compensation includes hourly pay, ten (10) days of paid personal time off, seven (7) paid Federal Holidays and two (2) Floating Holidays, occasional overtime opportunities, and company sponsored benefits such as medical, vision and dental coverage.
POSITION OVERVIEW
• Develops and maintains working knowledge of current Home Medical Equipment products and services offered by the company and all applicable insurance guidelines respecting eligibility for coverage and reimbursement
• Verify insurance benefits for both in-network and out-of-network policies
• Obtain and follow up on insurance pre-authorizations
• Bill Medicare, Medicaid, and private insurance companies for services rendered using applicable HCPCS codes.
• Complies with all current government/state regulations and professional standards involving patient care and information intake, as well as all applicable company policies, procedures, and patient protocols.
• Assists in collecting necessary billing documents for Prior Authorizations and equipment rentals.
• Ensures courteous and efficient service is provided to patients and referrals
• Performs other duties as required
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES
• Strong customer service background
• Familiarity and proficiency with Google and Microsoft products
• Independent and motivated learner
• Ability to type at least 40 WPM and perform typical office functions (Required)
Education/Experience
• High School Diploma (Required)
• 1-2 Years of experience in customer service roles
• Fluent in Spanish (Preferred)
Employment is contingent upon drug screening and clean background check
