Flexport is experiencing massive growth with 1,700+ Flexporters across 17 global offices and warehouses. And we’re just getting started. With revenue growing at breakneck speed, Flexport is looking for Global Customs Analysts to join our Customs Team. This is a great opportunity for a recent college graduate looking to launch their career. You’ll be working alongside and learning from some of the smartest people in the logistics industry as we challenge the status quo and reduce the friction in global trade.
You will:
- Digitally prepare and file all documentation required to customs clear goods in our bespoke software.
- Manage a large client base shipping multiple commodities and exceptionsÂ
- Client centric approach - Be obsessed with the client and work with them to find solutions and think outside the box.
- Review,organize and analyze incoming documents to ensure compliance with the local Customs Regulations.
- Provide necessary documents to other government agencies when required (OPSS,NVWA etc).
- Confidently classify goods, be the expert and provide advice to clients.
- Identify the potential for the use of a Preferential Trade Agreement on a per shipment basis & understand how to read free trade agreements.
- Maintain excellent working relationships with clients by providing first in class customer service. Become and be a trusted trade advisor to clients.Â
- Manage mid level projects within the team to drive operational processes and efficiency.
You should have:
- 0-2 years current experience in customs, including experience in handling customs declarations (2-5 years for associate).
- Ability to handle a large volume of entries & clients
- Familiarity with Customs product classification and the UK tariff.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- Next-level logistical problem-solving skills, finding solutions to complex client problems is a must.
- An obsession with client happiness. You succeed when they succeed.
- Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it. See something broken? Fix it.
- High level of computer literacy. No paper. All digital.
- Understanding of Classification (is a bonus)
- Ability to handle a range of commodities including goods requiring specific licenses.
