JOB SUMMARY Truity Credit Union is seeking a data-savvy and forward-thinkingData and AI Engineerto advance our data management and AI enablement capabilities. This role focuses onautomating data workflows,refining data quality, andleveraging AI/ML toolsto solve practical business problems. Rather than full-scale software development, this position emphasizesdata transformation, enrichment, querying, and AI-assisted processing, especially usingPython, Node.js and SQL. You’ll collaborate with teams such as Software Engineering, Data, Business Analysts, and Other technology stakeholders to create intelligent workflows, build/refine models and apply AI to real-world business/operational problems. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS • Design and implement data manipulation pipelines using scripting languages like Python and SQL for ingestion, cleansing, enrichment, and formatting. • Apply AI tools and frameworks to automate data classification, validation, and reporting tasks. • Configure and test generative models (LLMs) to enhance data-driven workflows and knowledge management. • Build lightweight scripts and tools for on-demand data exploration, transformation, and summarization. • Partner with analysts and business users to identify AI-powered opportunities for streamlining data operations. • Integrate LLM-based agents for structured and unstructured data extraction, Q&A, and document parsing. • Use vector databases, semantic search, and embedding models to enhance data retrieval and knowledge systems. • Support and maintain data pipelines across structured systems (e.g., SQL warehouses) and semi-structured data sources. • Leverage prompt engineering and AI orchestration frameworks (e.g., LangChain, semantic routers) to optimize task handling. • Monitor AI/data automation scripts to ensure accuracy, transparency, and compliance with data privacy standards. • Document data workflows and AI tools clearly for reuse, maintainability, and auditability. • Collaborate with the risk, security, and compliance teams to ensure responsible and ethical use of AI systems. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES • Proficiency inPythonfor scripting, data manipulation, and automation. • Strong command ofSQLfor querying, transforming, and joining relational data. • Experience with LLM tools and frameworks such asLangChain, OpenAI APIs, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG). • Familiarity withvector stores(e.g., FAISS, Weaviate) and embedding-based search. • Understanding ofdata pipelines and orchestration tools(e.g., dbt, Airflow, Pandas workflows). • Knowledge of AI agent frameworks and task routing techniques. • Ability to build and refineprompt templatesand AI-assisted data workflows. • Comfort working with cloud environments (e.g., Azure, AWS, or GCP). • Strong documentation, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills. • Knowledge of version control, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization tools is preferred • Awareness ofethical AI, privacy considerations, and data compliance standards. QUALIFICATIONS • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, or related technical field. • 5+ years of experience indata engineering, analytics, or scripting-heavy roles. • 2+ years working withAI/ML tools or automation frameworks, especially for data-related use cases.
