Position Description About the Department Services: Data Integrity and Reporting is a service division dedicated to providing the most up-to-date application for capturing necessary activity of the Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD). From county level development of the integrated justice information system (IJIS) application in partnership with HCUS (Harris County Universal Services), to dedicated training for the application, maintenance of data integrity by continual audits and point staff to support users for corrections, to the final product of providing reporting and data to federal, state, local, and agency requestors, the goal remains to provide the most accurate data in a way that can be used for decision making. About the Position:The Data Analyst gathers and collects data using statistical software and analytics to report and inform agency business processes, activity outcomes, client population attributes, and operational trends and metrics. Duties and Responsibilities: • Document and report metrics via reports, statistical graphs, and charts to federal, state, local, and internal requesters • Data validation and maintenance of data integrity • Access, integrate, and manipulate data from multiple sources utilizing computer resources • Assist in instructing others about HCJPD data complexities to aid in their data requests • Develop data analytics to identify agency needs and trends • Assist/advise in the development of new data collection methods Harris County is an Equal Opportunity Employer https://hrrm.harriscountytx.gov/Pages/EqualEmploymentOpportunityPlan.aspx If you need special services or accommodations, please call (713) 274-5445 or [email protected] Requirements Education and Experience: • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university. • One (1) year of experience, with specialization in the areas of criminology research, juvenile delinquency research, criminal justice, sociology, social work, or other related fields. • Knowledge/experience in agency-based data analysis. • Experience in table structure and an understanding of how data is gathered and compiled to produce accurate information. • Knowledge/experience in the use of social research software (i.e., SAS or SPSS).Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Proficiency in the use of current Microsoft Productive Suite applications.Licensure: • Must possess a valid Texas Driver's License with appropriate liability auto insurance coverage.Additional Requirements: • Upon receiving a conditional job offer, every applicant undergoes a criminal background check and drug screening. • Employees who hold this position are required to possess and maintain a valid Texas Driver's license and must maintain liability insurance in at least the minimum amounts required by law. • Certified copies of transcripts of educational credentials and/or college credits will be required during the hiring process. • All applicants are required to present evidence of a tuberculosis (TB) skin test. General Information About Harris County Juvenile Probation (HCJPD) The Harris County Juvenile Probation Department (HCJPD) provides supervision and services to youth between the ages of 10 and 17, who are under the jurisdiction of the Juvenile Court. HCJPD is the largest juvenile probation department in Texas with approximately 1,100 employees and over 3,500 youth referred to the department annually. HCJPD programs and services operate under the direction of the Harris County Juvenile Board. Harris County Juvenile Probation Department - Be an Agent of Change: Position Type and Typical Hours of Work: • Regular Full-time • Monday - Friday | 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. • Late nights and weekends if necessary and/or as scheduled. Salary: • $42.75 Hourly • Based on 26 pay periods Open Position Location: • JDC- 1200 Congress St. Employment is contingent upon passing a background check and drug screen.
