Data Analyst - Semiconductor Lasers

Laser Data Analyst Location: San Jose Please note, this job requires semiconductor and/or photonics industry experience. The Laser Data Analyst will be responsible for collecting, cleaning and analyzing the data from various test stations and provide valuable insights. This will help in critical decision making, crafting design of experiments for new developments and troubleshooting. The Laser data analyst will have to work with different teams inside AyarLabs but as well as with Vendors and Contract Manufacturing teams. Laser data Analyst will prepare regular formal reports and readouts for different projects that can be shared internally and externally for efficient communication Essential Functions: • Evaluate performance and maintain a high standard for performance within the Laser, Test and Validation teams • Collect and analyze data from various test and equipment stations • Innovate, build data platforms to bridge the gaps various teams and easier user experiences for developing Ayar laser light sources • Work with different validation & evaluation boards to gather data and compare performances • Convert Python codes to Matlab or vice versa, should be able to modify the old codes • Utilize Git for code versioning and collaboration • Automate the codes and concatenate scripts from various sources • Statistical data analysis while using data from different sources/teams/companies • Work with cross functional teams to define data requirements for the laser systems • Contribute to patent portfolio and strategy development. Basic Qualifications: • Master’s Degree or equivalent in Data Science, Physics, Controls, Electrical Engineering or similar disciplines with 2+ years of relevant experience • 2+ years of industry experience working with various databases like Oracle, SQL etc. • Experience in documenting technical work and results, writing lab reports, analysis and presentation of data • Able to code in python and/or Matlab • Able to convert data from one format to another and quickly analyzing/plotting Preferred Qualifications: • Knowledge in Photonics, Firmware, Controls • 2+ years of industry experience in semiconductors and/or photonics • Knowledge in laser, DFB arrays, fiber product etc. • Development of lasers, laser systems, fiber optic energy delivery devices, fiber optic probes, is an advantage.
