Job Description

As a valued colleague on our Low-Income Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC) Equity team, you will contribute to this mission by reviewing, monitoring, and analyzing business data to solve problems. You will make recommendations to improve the LIHTC Equity Team’s business performance, as well as identify opportunities for enhanced business efficiency and performance through data and technology. You will also assess stakeholder requests and collaborate with your team to determine solutions to solve business needs, using applications and Business Intelligence (BI) tools to explore and understand data, and provide BI insights and solutions.

The Data and Reporting Analyst - Senior Associate role will offer you the flexibility to make each day your own, while working alongside people who care so that you can deliver on the following responsibilities:

  • Act as a steward over the transactional data from data entry, data validation and through to reporting.
  • Analyze data to drive business decision-making capabilities.
  • Provide recommendations to the LIHTC Equity Team to determine business needs through understanding the business unit’s operations.
  • Attend meetings to discuss and identify stakeholder needs.
  • Contribute to designing, developing, implementing, and maintaining business intelligence (BI) applications and tools.
  • Maintain user job aids around data entry and data hygiene.
  • Draft automated business processes and mechanisms to generate meaningful reports to help the LIHTC Equity Team deliver on Fannie Mae's vision and purpose.
  • Input, track, evaluate and report on LIHTC Equity Team’s investments, including equity amounts and transactional characteristics (e.g., housing unit production, supportive housing, and other housing data). Make recommendations on areas for improved data and reporting performance relating to such equity investments.
  • Contribute to identifying, researching, and resolving technical problems, including developing and implementing requirements for new features and enhancements related to BI applications and tools.
  • Gather and analyze data and information results for reports to be presented to internal and external stakeholders, including Fannie Mae’s regulator, to empower data-driven decision-making.
  • Work with key stakeholders to ensure that reports meet business and regulatory needs. Review data and reports for accuracy and timeliness, provide insightful analysis, and explain results.
  • Partner with Product Management and internal data teams to support system enhancements requirements and testing, and act as a liaison between your team and Operations Management.

Qualifications

THE EXPERIENCE YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

Minimum Required Experiences

  • 2 years related experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Technical skills with MS Excel.
  • Understanding of the Agile methodology.
  • Project management experience including tracking data issues and implementing data controls.
  • Strong data analytic skills and experience identifying gaps and inconsistencies, defining data controls and guiding fixes through implementation.
  • Strong time management skills to best prioritize and accomplish multiple given tasks.
  • Working experience within a finance related field and an understanding of financial products.

Desired Experiences

  • Bachelor’s degree in data science or information systems, business management, finance, urban planning, STEM, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years related experience with Data Analysis, including any of the following: Data Analysis Interpretation, Data Visualization, Process Automation, Programming Skills, Requirements Analysis, Cleaning and Transforming Data, Dashboard Creation, Data Acquisition, Data Analysis Interpretation, Data Manipulation, Data Requirements Creation, Data Validation, and/or Version Control.
  • Experience with the following: Microsoft SQL, Scaled Agile (SAFe), Tableau, or JIRA, SAS, and Query Languages.
  • Experience using property management software(s).
  • Strong technical experience using Microsoft Office Suite applications.
  • Experience using Box and SharePoint.
  • Knowledge and interest in community development finance, particularly the Low-Income Housing Tax Credits (LIHTC) program.
