About This Role:

Jenni Kayne is looking for a Data Architect with expertise in data modeling, governance, BI, and deployment of enterprise Datawarehouse(dimensional model) using cloud technologies and modern data stack for enterprise self-service analytics and democratization of data. Role and Responsibilities:

As the Data Architect, your primary responsibilities include the following:

  • Responsible for the enterprise data architecture, which includes dimensional data model for BI/Analytics, data lake and overall architecture recommendation for data governance, security, and access.
  • Responsible for the back-end model design for Business Intelligence platforms like Looker, Tableau, Power BI etc.to ensure metric consistency and scale.
  • Collaborate with Data engineering team on the data pipelines stack including, governance, quality, I/CD, security (CCPA, PCI etc.)
  • Manage the data catalog and access as a data steward.
  • Lead and provide practical experience in the maturity of cloud-native data services such as AWS, Snowflake, Airflow, etc.
  • Responsible for definition, creation, and maintenance of architecture artifacts of Enterprise Data solutions including architecture, data dictionary, data flow diagrams, Conceptual/Logical Data models, data dictionaries, and database design.
  • Establish and maintain models and artifacts that describe how data is processed, stored, and utilized across the organization.
  • Proactively, develop and evangelize the design and development of future state data architecture.
  • Participate in Architecture, Design, and Code reviews.
  • Partner with data and business leadership and other workstreams to identify and manage issues, risks, and data dependencies.
  • Partner with cross functional teams to analyze data tracking from new and existing applications and propose solutions to integrate the new data sources in Data Lake and EDW.
  • Continuously monitor the system growth (data engineering, BI, Analytics, Data Sciences) in Cloud ( AWS) in terms of computer and storage and propose best practices for a leaner and scalable architecture.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Engineering, Math, Statistics or related discipline, or an equivalent in education and experience.
  • 7+ years in-depth, hands-on knowledge and execution of foundational data architectures such as data warehouses, data modeling, data mining, ETL, and in-memory models.
  • Proficient knowledge in modern data architecture that supports advanced analytics including Snowflake, Data Bricks etc.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, responding quickly to oversight and following instruction closely, while anticipating needs and developing efficiencies on repeat tasks.
  • Excellent problem-solving, critical thinking and analytics skills with the ability to work in a cross-functional team.
  • Quick self-motivated learner who can initiate and drive new data solutions and patterns in anticipation of management and client goals and objectives with little or no supervision.
  • Self-directed and comfortable supporting the data needs of multiple teams, systems and products.
  • Must be able to adapt to change in direction and priorities in a project and deadline-oriented environment.
  • Expert knowledge of data modeling, documentation and governance tools and techniques.
  • Sophisticated oral and written communication skills and experience presenting to different levels of leadership.
  • Sophisticated analytical skills related to cost / benefit analysis of large dollar hardware and software implementations.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
  • Must be able to move and lift heavy objects (15 pounds or more) from time to time as required

The annual base salary range for this position is $210,000 - $250,000. The base salary is determined by experience, education, skills, and location.
