Job Description
The Data Archive Coordinator is responsible for handling the permanent archival of Multiclient seismic data volumes from Data Processing to WHSM disk. The Data Archive Coordinator will also generate risk management copies for offsite storage.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Generate Omega2 jobs to archive seismic volumes within the required timeframe. This includes:
- Communicate with Data Processing and Asset Development to monitor and schedule transfer of data volumes.
- Accurately describe data volume using standard naming conventions.
- Prepare the Omega2 job to copy the data to WHSM disk location; create a risk management tape copy.
- Submit and monitor all jobs to successful completion.
- Perform troubleshooting on any jobs that fail.
- Submit and follow-up on tickets for support if initial troubleshooting is unsuccessful.
- Perform quality control according to procedures, including time/depth slice.
- Prepare and QC a TAT and DAT files for both disk and tape copies.
- Ensure GAT file and risk management tape copy are delivered to Inventory Group for loading to database.
- Maintain job status entries at all times, including information regarding any problems with the disk archive job.
- Produce status and resource requirement reports promptly at the request of direct/functional supervisors or management.
- Coordinate work on multiple jobs, ensuring all are progressing according to schedule.
- Interact with client as required, ensuring that good client relations are maintained at all times.
- Maintain and follow all procedures, naming conventions and work instructions. Review on a regular basis and suggest changes and additions as required.
- Complete special projects or other duties as assigned by the group leader.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
- Experience: Three to five years of Data Processing, infield QC or navigation experience and customer relations experience preferred, but not required.
- Skills:
- Strong PC and intermediate Linux skills required.
- Disciplined and well organized.
- Able to prioritize tasks and work effectively under time constraints.
- Good communication and problem solving skills with a focus on client service and satisfaction.
- Candidates must be able to legally work and reside in the US, without sponsorship.
