Data Engineer – DWH Solutions

Your Role and Responsibilities
You will join an experience team (who is open to share it’s knowledge) of DWH Data Engineers who are on daily basis developing maintaining and operating several large EDW solutions for large clients based in Czech Republic. Based on the various projects needs you will be responsible (in cooperation with the team) for design and development of full data lifecycle streams. In general the team further supports the delivery on Production environment and ensures daily operation of EDW solutions.

Your main responsibilities may include:

• Design and implement data acquisition stream based on the source systems possibilities including Change Data Capture solutions
• Design and implement ETLs from Landing Layer through all layers of EDW solutions
• Work with Data modelling software (Power Designer IBM Data Architect) update code generators (when needed) as majority of solutions are fully or partially model-driven
• Deploy DDLs definitions in RDMBS
• Prepare configuration for DWH Scheduler
• Design and Develop outputs for external systems/DataMart for Reporting Layers
• Cooperate with the remaining team on daily basis
• Work closely with the project manager and provide support in project planning work estimations
• Cooperate with relevant client team members in order to discuss details of Interface agreements and/or Reporting requirements
• Work with code repository tools
• Stay up-to-date with modern trends in DWH area especially cloud-based solution and PySPARK data processing frameworks
• Provide functional and technical leadership and guidance to junior team members.
• Ensure adherence to project standards and best practices.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in IT.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Data Engineering area.
• Knowledge of RDBMS solutions
• Very good knowledge of SQL
• Overall understanding data processing in three-layer Datawarehouse solutions.
• Communication and collaboration skills – team player
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Fluent Czech or Slovak languages.
• Good command of English language.
• Experience with code repository solution (gitlab github etc.)

Beneficial Technical and Professional Expertise

• Working knowledge of a RDBMS – Oracle DB2 Teradata PostgreSQL RDBMS
• Linux shell scripting crontab
• Working knowledge of an ETL tool – IPWC IBM DataStage
• Working knowledge of a Reporting system – IBM Cognos Analytics MS Power BI
• Working knowledge of a Change Data Capture solutions – Oracle Golden Gate IBM IIDR
• Database administration skillset
• Basic understanding of Agile delivery concepts and terminology
