Job Title:Data Integration Analyst Reports to:Chief Data Officer/Deputy CIO Salary: $84,238 Grade/Step: 19/E Location:While the location is posted as 69 W Washington, this role will be expected to travel to various courthouse locations throughout Cook County Bureau:Administrative Services Division/Unit: MIS Application deadline:October 30, 2025 Working Environment: Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. General Description: The Management Information Systems Department of the Cook County State’s Attorney’s Office is looking for a Data Integration Analyst to collaborate with staff across the office and help design data systems and processes that enhance data collection, transfer, insight generation, and operational implementation related to the work of the Cook County State’s Attorney. A DIA transforms raw data into actionable insights to support business decisions. They collect, clean, analyze, and visualize data using tools like Excel and Tableau. Key responsibilities include identifying trends, creating reports, and collaborating with teams to inform strategies. DIAs will be responsible for identifying and executing opportunities to increase public transparency about the office's activities, as well as developing innovative visualizations to improve user experience. Working Environment and Reporting Structure: The Data Integration Analyst will engage with prosecutors, administrative staff, and investigators throughout the office. They will report directly to the Chief Data Officer. Duties/Requirements: 1. Data Quality and Integrity • Ensure that data is accurate, consistent, and reliable throughout its lifecycle, which is critical for making valid and trustworthy decisions • Cleanse data and scrutinize computer-generated reports and outputs to identify and rectify coding errors 2. Collecting Data from Various Sources • Gather data from various sources, including databases, APIs, and third-party sources, and ensure the upkeep of databases and data systems. 3. Developing and Supporting Reporting Processes • Create and maintain processes to generate accurate and timely reports that help stakeholders understand and act on key data insights • Identify opportunities for process enhancements • Engage with managers from various departments to specify data requirements for analysis projects tailored to their unique business processes 4. Developing Automated Processes for Data Scraping • Design scripts and tools to automatically extract large volumes of data from websites or other digital sources, improving efficiency and availability. 5. Interpret Data • Detect, examine, and decode trends or patterns within intricate datasets • Employ statistical techniques to scrutinize data and produce actionable business insights • Your analyses will help extract meaningful insights and trends, which can then inform business decisions and strategies • Develop data dashboards, charts, and visual aids to support decision-making across departments 6. Performs Complex Analyses • Conduct in-depth data analyses using advanced statistical methods and tools to uncover patterns, correlations, and insights 7. Maintaining Databases • You will be entrusted with the responsibility of managing and updating databases to ensure they are secure, accessible, and functioning properly. Your role is crucial in supporting ongoing data storage and retrieval needs. 8. Collaboration • Coordinate with management to align business and informational priorities • Collaborate with the management team to determine and rank the needs of different business units. Beyond developing better internal systems around data, DIAs will also be responsible for helping develop and improve data sets and analysis for the public and as well as researchers who are working with the office. DIAs will spend part of their time providing technical training to individuals both within and outside of the office to better understand our methodologies and utilization of best practices as it relates to data sources, extraction, analysis, and visualization, Minimum Qualifications: • A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline from an accredited educational institution of higher learning is required. • A minimum of 2 years of experience in data services or sciences supporting data infrastructure, SQL scripting, analytics, and/or visualization. • Python or SQL Certification from an accredited vendor or educational institution. • Python or SQL Certification from an accredited vendor or educational institution. • Able to manipulate large data (100,000+ rows) sets in Microsoft Excel, SQL, R, STATA • Two or more of the following disciplines: • Experience building out and maintaining data pipelines/ETL jobs • Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Power BI or Tableau • Proficiency in programming, particularly with PowerShell and SQL • Experience developing workflow systems focused on capturing high-quality data • Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, PowerShell, R, SQL, STATA, VBA Preferred Qualifications: • A master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or a comparable discipline from an accredited educational institution of higher learning. • 3 years’ experience in technology support focused on desktops, Microsoft applications, and other prosecution-related technologies. • Expert level of proficiency in programming, particularly with PowerShell and SQL Knowledge, Skills & Abilities: • Organized with high attention to detail • Experience with data management/analysis • Creative problem solver with the ability to self-teach • Solid understanding of multi-relational data structures • Comfortable working in an iteration-based environment • Ability to build relationships and trust across departments • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently • Self-starter who is comfortable working both independently and with a team • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, specifically the ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience • An understanding of criminal justice systems • An understanding of how to design a meaningful data visualization Physical Requirements: Sedentary work. Sedentary work involves lifting no more than 10 pounds at a time and occasionally lifting or carrying articles like docket files, ledgers, and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required occasionally, and other sedentary criteria are met.
