Data Scientist

Salary Range: Based on experience As a Data Scientist, you will have the opportunity to build and develop models for data processing and analytics related to strength training and fitness. Essential Functions: ● Work with subject matter experts in fitness and strength training to develop metrics and analytics ● Help identify and solve complex and interesting data science problems ● Participate in data quality strategy discussions and implement layers of the test pyramid such as unit and integration tests, ensuring all code produced has meaningful tests ● Implement approaches that are simple, teachable, and easy to debug ● Produce required documentation and artifacts to ensure others understand the design ● Recognize repeatable patterns and appreciate deployment constraints ● Commitment to continuous learning and ability to pick up new knowledge quickly Education and Experience: ● Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related fields ● Statistical and data science programming with proficiency in Python ● Data extraction and feature engineering for processing and transforming data into relevant features ● Hands-on software development skills and experience writing production level code ● Ability to work closely with Domain experts to develop tools/algorithms needed to answer research questions in their studies ● Experience with interpretability of deep learning models and statistical analysis ● Big Data Skills (Hadoop, Spark, etc.) ● Experience in working with databases such as elastic, PostgreSQL and MongoDB What makes you stand out: ● Experience writing testable, modular code ● Excellent communication skills (with the ability to explain developed tools and ML algorithms to a non-technical audience) ● Strong analytic, inference, critical thinking, and creative problem-solving skills What you can expect: ● Equity ownership participation ● Comprehensive benefit package and employer sponsored memberships ● A fun, challenging, and engaging start-up environment ● Agile, self-managed, self-organized teams ● A culture driven by innovation and team-focused engagement ● An entity that is committed to personal growth and opportunity ● Ability to work with cutting-edge and emerging technologies Work authorization: Must be authorized to work in the United States.
