Data Scientist II

What's the role?
HERE is searching for a Data Scientist for our Source Fusion team in the Foundation Engineering Development Group. You will be part of an engineering team that works closely with Data Scientists to develop Data extraction, Data visualization, Data labelling and Data validation software with a focus on continuous delivery. In this team, you will have opportunity to work on full stack development technologies and is an excellent opportunity to work with an energetic and dedicated team of software engineers and computer vision/machine learning experts on highly visible, technology-driven problems with a direct connection to the success of the company. The effectiveness of team's deliveries will focus and measured by scalability, maintainability, and computational efficiency.
The Data Scientist in this team would have to be passionate about innovating and developing machine learning and data analytics solutions to build our industry-leading map. Responsibilities:

• Help design and build the next iteration of process automation in HERE Core Map processes employing a highly scalable Big Data infrastructure and machine learning as applied to global-scale digital map-making.
• Build and test analytic and statistical models to improve a wide variety of both internal data-driven processes for map-making data decisions and system control needs.
• Act as an expert in areas of data mining, machine learning, statistics, and predictive analysis and modeling.
• Function as a predictive modeling or application team member on Core Map projects.
• Analyzing data, designing new algorithms and models
• Developing and supporting map automation pipelines
• Building and scaling the automation deployments in cloud environments
• Collaborating in cross-functional team of data scientists, developers, devops and quality engineers

Requirements:

• BS or MS in a discipline such as Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related field with experience in computational statistics/ science/ engineering, data mining, machine learning, and optimization
• Minimum of 2 years related, professional experience
• Experience with ML / AI related projects
• Experience working in an Agile development environment
• Experience in E2E software development lifecycle - from requirement gathering to deployments
• Knowledge of data mining and analytic methods such as regression, classifiers, clustering, association rules, decision trees, Bayesian network analysis, etc. Should have expert-level knowledge in one or more of these areas.
• Knowledge of Deep Learning and Point Cloud Processing algorithms is a big bonus.
• Proficiency with a statistical analysis package and associated scripting language such as Python.
• Programming experience with SQL, shell script, Python, etc.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Development experience with Java and Scala
• Development experience with Docker
• Development experience with GIS data
• Development experience with NoSQL (i.e. DynamoDB)
• Knowledge of GPU programming (CUDA or OpenCL) on GPU accelerator architectures
