Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work — we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

What you'd be doing in this role We are hiring across multiple teams - our Data Scientists are embedded within every major area of Canva — product business and operations. We’re a thriving community that partners deeply with stakeholders to make Canva more effective efficient and impactful through data. Whether it’s helping teams make better decisions or building scalable experimentation platforms we’re here to empower every Canvanaut to do their best work.

As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA — but we like to think that's all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things you'll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.

At the moment this role is focused on:

• Partnering with teams across Canva to influence strategic decisions through data. • Designing and analysing A/B tests and other experiments that drive product and business outcomes. • Building data models dashboards and tooling that help teams scale insights. • Defining and forecasting key metrics to track progress and surface opportunities. • Communicating findings clearly to a wide range of technical and non-technical audiences. • Uplifting the broader data community through mentorship best practices and collaboration.

You're probably a match if:

• You have a proven track record of using data to drive impact across products or business units. • You write complex SQL with ease and can work with large-scale datasets. • You think strategically love solving ambiguous problems and use data to simplify complexity. • You’re an excellent communicator and storyteller — able to translate data into compelling narratives. • You have experience with experimentation event instrumentation and data warehousing. • You’ve worked with tools like Python or R and bring a strong foundation in statistics or a STEM field. • You’re familiar with key tech metrics like product funnels and growth accounting. • You value data accuracy integrity and using your craft to enable better decisions.
