Data Systems Engineer, Costa Mesa, CA

Responsibilities: The Data Systems Engineer would support, evolve, and deploy the underlying infrastructure of the company’s data platform implementations securely working with Engineering & DevOps Teams on AWS. Activities within bitbucket include a review/approve/merge/resolve conflict. Deploy and resolve issues with PRs (pull requests) for deployments using terraform and providers we support like AWS. Work with DevOps team on bit/git requirements and integrations. Deliver, Code, and Implement solutions using Python based on established data pipelines. Optimize, Simplify and Automate processes into code using Python and Terraform. Document/Update bit/git readme’s and examples/Jupyter Notebooks. Document/Update documentation in confluence for architecture and security standards established by enterprise architecture.

Qualifications: THIS POSITION REQUIRES A BACHELOR’S DEGREE (OR FOREIGN EQUIVALENT) IN COMPUTER SCIENCE, DIGITAL SCIENCES OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED FIELD, PLUS 3 YEARS OF WORK EXPERIENCE IN THE JOB OFFERED OR IN A CLOSELY RELATED OCCUPATION.

Special Requirements: 

REQUIRED SKILLS: EXPERTISE/KNOWLEDGE OF: 

1. AWS services (Lambda, S3, Glue, Aurora, Dynamo).
2. Python for data engineering and backend development.
3. CI/CD (Git/Bit, CI/CD, Orchestration).
4. Security (IAM, Encryption, Access Controls).
5. NoSQL/SQL based and relational databases, especially cloud data warehouse solutions.
6. Building and optimizing ‘big data’ data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
