Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Responsible for providing database management support for Cubic program system databases (DBs). Maintains production and development test environments including database refresh, upgrade, and migration activities
• Available to provide on-call support
• Responsible for the integrity of DBs backup/recovery procedures and disaster recovery processes.
• Helps define and enforce database object development standards
• Develops, documents and implements procedures for recurring database administration tasks to ISO 9001 standard
• Performs software installations and configurations, coordinating with the Systems Integration and Cubic Development groups

• Implements all access control to the database, taking into account: security, efficiency, integrity, ownership and redundancy concerns

• Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the DBs, including Performance Tuning all database components including SQL and PL/SQL
• Responsible for problem escalation to third parties for support as appropriate
• Responsible for implementation and release of database changes as submitted by the development and project teams and implementation of changes using Change Control Process
• Data modeling and database design
• Verify/apply DOD Application Security Technical Implementation Guide to server
• Work with DOD SSL certificates

Minimum Job Requirements:

Four-year college degree, or equivalent, in computer science or related technical field, plus a minimum of four years of database administration experience as an SQL Server DBA in a production environment. This includes experience with administration using SQL Server Management Studio. Available to provide on-call support. Familiar with classic ASP and .NET Framework. Postgres, Mongo and Azure based implementation experience a definite plus. Proficiency using query tools such as SQL or SQL Developer and one or more programming languages such as PL/SQL, Shell Scripting or Perl. Proven ability to prioritize work, complete multiple tasks and work under deadlines. Effective written and verbal communication skills required. Strong trouble shooting and analytical skills and able to perform hardware sizing as well as installation of software modules. Experience with Perl, SQL or Shell Scripting is desired. Able to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance.
