Database Architect

We are seeking a Database Architect with a strong focus on MySQL and a comprehensive understanding of other major database systems such as Oracle, SQL Server, and PostgreSQL. This role involves designing robust database solutions, optimizing performance, and architecting migration strategies for enterprise applications. As a Database Architect, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring scalability, availability, and security across diverse database environments.

Key Responsibilities:

• Architect and implement efficient database solutions with a focus on MySQL, ensuring performance, scalability, and reliability.

• Leverage expertise in other database systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL) to design hybrid solutions when necessary.

• Lead database migration projects, including cross-platform migrations to MySQL.

• Optimize database performance using advanced techniques such as indexing, partitioning, replication, and clustering.

• Collaborate with development teams to ensure seamless integration between applications and database systems.

• Develop and enforce best practices for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.

• Stay up to date with the latest database technologies and trends, contributing to strategic decision-making and technology roadmaps.

• 5+ years of experience in database architecture and administration, with a primary focus on MySQL.

• Hands-on experience with database design, query optimization, and performance tuning across MySQL and other systems (Oracle, SQL Server, PostgreSQL).

• Good understanding on serverless and distributed database architectures to design modern, scalable solutions.

• Proficiency in SQL and scripting languages (Python, Bash) for automation and database management.

• Deep understanding of database replication, clustering, and partitioning techniques.

• Experience with database migration tools and cross-platform strategies.

• Familiarity with monitoring tools and performance tuning utilities for databases.

• Strong knowledge of database security, backup, and disaster recovery processes.

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Certification in database technologies (e.g., Oracle Certified, Microsoft SQL Server, MySQL Certified DBA).

• Experience with cloud database solutions and architectures (e.g., Huawei Cloud Database Services).
