Database/ Data Masking Engineer II

Overview

This is a remote role that may only be hired in the following location(s): NC, NJ, FL, AZ

This position provides advanced production support for software and hardware infrastructure related to database technologies. Supports database infrastructure for the Bank's sales, service, and corporate support applications through expertise and daily performance monitoring. Implements, upgrades, and tests technical systems. Resolves technical issues reported by users or system alerts. Drives operational excellence and systems efficiency, providing continuous service both through daily activities and through on-call rotation for afterhours support. Assists with disaster recovery testing and may occasionally guide less experienced associates in the work group.

Responsibilities

• Technical Support - Provides support for technical systems that execute business applications. Configures, installs, and upgrades systems. Identifies and resolves advanced or escalated technical issues as they arise. Responsible for administration, communication, and documentation throughout technical support activities. Assists in managing technical projects.
• Data Security - Responsible for the security, management, and recovery of the Bank's distributed data assets, including aiding disaster recovery efforts.
• System Testing - Performs testing and monitoring to ensure all applications dependent on the infrastructure function without issues. Automates tasks or tests to provide continuous monitoring.
• Technical Proficiency - Maintains a strong knowledge base of software, hardware, and related database infrastructure through ongoing research. Communicates effective and clear technical information to associates and management.
• Strategy Development: Developing and implementing data masking and obfuscation strategies. Ensuring compliance with data privacy regulations.
• Implementation: Implementing Delphix data masking solutions in diverse environments.
• Customizing obfuscation algorithms as per specific requirements.
• Maintenance: Monitoring and maintaining the Delphix obfuscation environment. Troubleshooting and resolving issues related to data masking.
• Training and Support: Providing training to users and administrators.
• Offering technical support for Delphix obfuscation solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree and 2 years of experience in Technology Infrastructure and Data Security OR High School Diploma or GED and 6 years of experience in Technology Infrastructure and Data Security

Preferred Education: Bachelor's Degree

Preferred Area of Study: Relational Databases

Preferred Area of Experience: Financial sector

License or Certification Type: Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Preferred, IBM Certification Preferred, Oracle Certification Preferred

Skill(s): Understanding of relational database constructs, High availability design of databases, Structured query language, Familiarity of multiple database platforms (i.e. SQL Server, Oracle, DB2, Netezza, etc.), Familiarity with various tools or utilities used in supporting database platforms (Commvault, TOAD, DBVisualizer, Idera, Solarwinds, etc.)

Technical Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of Delphix Data Platform and its data masking features.
• Experience in configuring and managing Delphix environments.
• Expertise in algorithms and techniques for data obfuscation and masking.
• Understanding of legal and regulatory requirements for data privacy.
• Proficiency in various database technologies like Oracle, SQL Server, etc.
• Ability to write and optimize SQL queries.
• Knowledge of programming languages like Java, Python, etc.
• Scripting skills for automation of tasks.

• Ability to analyze complex data environments and requirements.
• Skills to develop and implement effective obfuscation strategies.
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative mindset to work with cross-functional teams.
