CACI is currently seeking a database developer, with applied experience in AWS RDS platform migrations, to join our BEAGLE (Border Enforcement Applications for Government Leading-Edge Information Technology) Agile Solution Factory (ASF) Team supporting Customs and Border Protection (CBP) client located in Northern Virginia! Join this passionate team of industry-leading individuals utilizing ASF best for the Department of Homeland Security (DHS). As a member of the BEAGLE ASF Team, you will support the men and women charged with safeguarding the American people and enhancing the Nation's safety, security, and prosperity. CBP agents and officers are on the front lines, every day, protecting our national security by combining customs, immigration, and border security into one coordinated and supportive activity. ASF programs thrive in a culture of innovation and are constantly seeking individuals who can bring creative ideas to solve complex problems, both technical and procedural at the team and portfolio levels. The ability to be adaptable and to work constructively with a technically diverse and geographically separated team is crucial. You should have experience in Oracle to PostGreSQL DB migration, some ETL tool to understand concepts and supported RDS in AWS environment.
What You'll Get to Do:
- Leverage AWS's Relational Database Service (RDS) and Data Migration Services (DMS) in the execution of change data capture (CDC) and cloud migration strategies
- Administer and integrate on-premises and cloud database services, assuring high availability, active/active replication, and transactional performance.
- Design - as visualized in entity relationship diagrams - and implement physical and logical data models.
- Follow and establish database standards.
- Support the Functional Business, Application Development, and Security Technical Teams to provide O&M and Release Management support for landscape components.
- Participate in the design activities consistent with enterprise standards and Agency priorities for continuous improvement (e.g.: Robotics Process Automation, Automated Testing, etc.) to deliver value-added solutions.
- Participate proof of concept in new technologies
- Design, develop and implement approaches for historical data retention and archival storage backup and recovery solutions.
- Work in a collaborative team environment with other operational (e.g., OS, DBA, network, security, etc.) team members to troubleshoot and optimize performance.
- Write triggers and functions to support ETL.
- Scripting bash or AWS Software Development Kit (SDK).
You'll Bring These Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen with the ability to pass CBP background investigation, criteria include but are not limited to:
- 3-year check for felony convictions
- 1-year check for illegal drug use
- 1-year check for misconduct such as theft or fraud
- College degree (B.S.) in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Management Systems or a related discipline. Equivalent professional experience will be considered in lieu of degree.
- 10+ years of technical experience
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in relational database development and administration, within PostgreSQL and Oracle environments.
- Experience in database migration, cutovers, extract-transform-load (ETL) processing, and change data capture (CDC) scenarios.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to provide expertise to support application team.
- Strong written communication skills to document implemented solutions or workarounds.
- Good understanding of physical and logical data modelling
- Capable of working in a team environment and collaborating with other teams like platform support, developers, production support etc.
- Experience utilizing performance monitoring tools to work with application developers to identify and correct inefficient database operations.
- Database Migration experience strongly preferred, especially Oracle to PostgreSQL
- AWS RDS experience
- Experience working with AWS tools.
- Strong programming background for writing triggers, functions and procedures.

- System Development Life Cycle (SDLC) best practices to deliver functionality on time, which meet business needs.
- Effective Task organization skills, including the ability to realistically assess, plan for, and logically organize complex technical tasks.
- Strong interpersonal skills
- Ability to work individually (self-motivated) and within a team environment.
- Agile implementation methodology experience

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $79,000-$161,900. There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, geographic location, education, and certifications.
