We're seeking a future team member in the role of Database Security and Compliance Engineer to join our Database Compliance & Security team. This role is located in Pittsburgh, PA and Nashville, TN - HYBRID/REMOTE.

In this role, you'll make an impact in the following ways:
  • Ownership and delivery of all Database Audit Requirements. Candidate will Represent DB Engineering team in internal and external audits and regulatory examinations as required. Candidate will be responsible for collecting all audit related evidence which matches the requested specifications in a timely manner.
  • Implement and maintain database security policies, procedures, and controls to ensure the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the bank's data.
  • Perform regular database security assessments, risk analysis, and vulnerability testing to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities. Collaborate with database administrators, IT teams, and business stakeholders to develop and implement security best practices and compliance measures.
  • Monitor database access and activities to detect and respond to unauthorized access or security breaches. Provide guidance and support in the development and maintenance of a robust data classification framework. Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations, such as GDPR, CCPA, and HIPAA, as well as internal policies and procedures.
  • Develop and maintain documentation related to database security policies, procedures, and incident response plans.
  • Train and educate staff on database security, data protection, and compliance requirements.
  • Continuously research and stay up-to-date on emerging threats, security technologies, and best practices in database security and compliance.
To be successful in this role, we're seeking the following:
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred. 8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of database security concepts, technologies, and best practices (on-prem and cloud). Familiarity with industry regulations and compliance standards, such as SWIFT, SOC, ISO , PCI etc.
  • Experience with database management systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, and MongoDB. Knowledge of CIS/NIST Database Hardening Standards. Experience on compliance scanning tools like Qualys will be a plus.
  • Working Knowledge of Splunk/Guardium would be a plus. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex security concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Professional certifications such as CISSP, CISA, or CISM are a plus.
