Daycare Chef

Responsibilities: - Create weekly menu incorporating healthy ingredients - When planning menu, keep ingredients on-hand in mind to avoid waste - Create weekly HEB order - Serve meals on time for breakfast, lunch & afternoon snack - Clean up after meals (clean dishes, wipe counters, stove tops, wall surfaces if needed) - Keep kitchen clean - Keep pantry food sealed to avoid pests - Maintain daily sanitation logs - Know any allergies in the center & ensure those allergens are not given to those people - Follow health department guidelines - Clean up in cafeteria after lunch (clean & sanitize counter) - Try to incorporate weekly themes into menu descriptions (especially fun weeks) - Must be a team player / flexible to help where needed - Help with classroom transitions, potty breaks, lunch breaks if needed - Be able to sub in classroom for any age - Previous work in childcare a plus - Manage inventory control and ordering of supplies - Ensure adherence to food safety and sanitation standards - Collaborate with management to develop menus and specials - Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints in a professional manner Qualifications: - Previous experience in a leadership role in a kitchen environment - Strong knowledge of food handling, preparation, and production techniques - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Knowledge of posting to social media - Knowledge of inventory control procedures and ability to manage food costs - Excellent time management skills - Knowledge of Microsoft Excel & Word - Ability to read/write English; good grammar & spelling - Previous experience working in child care Note: This job description is intended to provide a general overview of the position.
