We are seeking an innovative and results-oriented Product Manager to lead the evolution of webMethods Business Rules within our portfolio of decision automation solutions.

The ideal candidate will bring a deep understanding of business rules management and a passion for delivering intuitive, high-impact solutions that drive business outcomes. In this role, you will collaborate with global teams across engineering, design, sales, marketing, and customer success to deliver innovative features and capabilities that meet customer needs and advance IBM's leadership in decision automation.

What You'll Do:

Lead Product Strategy:
  • Define and execute the product strategy and roadmap for webMethods Business Rules, ensuring alignment with market trends, customer feedback, and IBM's business goals.
  • Conduct customer discovery sessions and market research to identify pain points, opportunities for innovation, and new use cases for business rules.

Drive Development and Delivery:
  • Work with engineering and design teams to translate strategy into prioritized, well-defined product requirements.
  • Participate in the product development lifecycle, from concept and design through implementation, testing, and release.

Enable Customer Success:
  • Act as a trusted advisor to customers, partners, and internal stakeholders, helping them understand the value of webMethods Business Rules and how it meets their business needs.
  • Develop and maintain performance benchmarks, monitor feature usage, and evaluate customer feedback to continuously improve product quality and outcomes.

Collaborate Across Teams:
  • Interface with stakeholders across sales, customer success, and marketing to clarify product capabilities, gather insights, and ensure consistent messaging.
  • Partner with global teams to deliver scalable, high-quality solutions that meet performance, response time, and scalability requirements.

Stay Ahead of the Curve:
  • Maintain a current understanding of industry and technology trends in decision automation, business rules management, and adjacent fields.
  • Use market insights to identify opportunities for differentiation and competitive advantage.

  • The ability to effectively communicate with technical and business stakeholders to bridge gaps and ensure alignment.

Technical Expertise:
  • Proven ability to work with highly technical customers, enterprise-scale environments, and cross-functional development teams in agile settings.
  • Hands-on knowledge of webMethods Business Rules platform features and functionality is a plus.

Collaborative Leadership:
  • Experience working with sales and sales engineering teams to deliver value to customers.
  • The ability to inspire and lead cross-functional teams to achieve strategic business goals.

Analytical Skills:
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to use data and metrics to make informed decisions and measure success.
  • A proactive approach to solving ambiguous and open-ended problems.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in technical software product management or equivalent developer experience.
  • Demonstrated expertise in business rules management systems (BRMS) and decision automation.
  • Familiarity with webMethods technologies, including Integration Server, Designer, and related platforms.
  • Experience with SOAP/RESTful APIs, SQL development, and integrating web applications with ERP/Legacy platforms.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills to work effectively across diverse teams.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Growth mindset with a drive to innovate and deliver exceptional outcomes.
  • Experience with large enterprise customers and managing stakeholder relationships.
  • Hands-on experience with SaaS, application integration, or iPaaS solutions.
  • Familiarity with agile development practices and tools such as GitHub and Aha!.
