Department Manager - Plumbing

Summary Our company is seeking a dedicated and experienced Manager to lead our growing plumbing department. This multi-faceted role is central to our organization and offers the opportunity to have a significant impact on our operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading, mentoring, and training our plumbing technicians. This includes assessing customer needs and helping provide quotes for a range of possible solutions. Responsibilities • Design and oversee the program for both plumbing service and installation, ensuring its continued enhancement over time. • Train and mentor existing and newly hired plumbing technicians and sales staff. • Provide personalized skills and career development paths for our technicians and apprentices. • Identify technical weaknesses in trainees and provide support and solutions. • Participate in the development of training programs and supporting materials. • Interview and hire new technicians in collaboration with the recruiting coordinator. • Ensure shop tools and equipment are properly used and maintained. • Assist sales staff with design, layout, equipment, and material selections when needed. • Conduct home visits, create written proposals, and present contracted work to customers in a sales role.
