Job Description
Eaton provides a competitive total rewards package commensurate with applicable skills, knowledge, and experience and consistent with internal and external market practices. The expected annual salary for this role is $80,000 (bachelor's degree) with a one-time $6,000 sign on bonus or $85,000 (master's degree) with a one-time $6,000 sign on bonus.
What you'll do:
As a Design Engineer you will support the mobility transformation by working on customer projects, new product development, existing product roadmaps, and with our sales / business development teams for pursuits across Vehicle Group or eMobility product lines.
On a day-to-day basis, you can expect to:
- Create drawings, engineering documentation, calculations and other engineering requirements as required for each project
- Collaborate with our sales and business development teams to ensure customer technical requirements are fulfilled
- Support new product design activities within our evolving portfolio of products
- Support project managers to ensure the project deliverables are on time and on budget
- Analyze, recommend and implement ways to improve productivity and cost savings
- Stay informed of what's happening in the industry and products by continuing to advance your education - formally and informally
- Work with people who bring diverse perspectives, cultures and value to projects, people and customers
- Find many ways to constantly demonstrate the behavioral and ways of working attributes that have stood the test of time to make our company what it is today
Basic Qualifications:
- Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Systems Engineering from an accredited institution with a graduation date no later than June, 2024
- Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of related experience completed at the time of this application
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship now and in the future
Preferred Qualifications:
- One (1) year of experience in an engineering function, may include internship/co-op experience
- Prior exposure to automotive operations or engineering
- Leadership role in student organization
Skills:
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills, including technical writing ability
- Excellent planning and organizational skills with the ability to independently manage workload
- Proven strong leadership, motivational and interpersonal skills
- Team-oriented, problem-solving skills and corrective action methodology
