The Design Manager plans, designs, and provides technical support for all phases of mechanical and electrical engineering work for the NPSC Design Team. You will also engage in engineering design reviews for all project pertinent drawing [i.e. equipment approval drawings, Equipment certified drawings, and complete NPE Nestle Purina Engineering (NPE) design packages]. Design associates also coordinate project pertinent mechanical and electrical specifications, guideline adherence, and engineering calculations. The graphic design effort also involves open communication with NPE, PTC, TAG, outside consultants and suppliers to enable multi-discipline design coordination and compliance (includes BOM, P&ID, I/O List coordination with all parties).
- Supervise and lead NPSC engineers, designers, and CAD operators (electrical and mechanical)
- Provide engineering design assistance to factories including design support for Division Engineering. This includes graphics design facilitating process troubleshooting, process enhancements, and process innovations
- Lead and execute technical design support integrating all aspects of food processing technology, hygienic design, machinery safety, process safety, and equipment operational functionality
- Develop/modify NPSC technical design guidelines and standards, mechanical specs, and electrical specs
- Development of cost estimates for new skidded equipment design
- Assist NPSC in routine design and engineering functions as training and expertise permits. Maintain personal development progress reports, comply with Nestle Purina safety requirements, and complete annual Nestle training courses
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Construction Management, or related field AND 5+ years of applicable experience, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication, machine shop or technical role equivalent
OR
- High school Diploma or GED equivalent AND 10+ years' experience of applicable experience, preferably in a manufacturing, fabrication, machine shop or technical role equivalent
