Design Technology Specialist

As an Architect with BIM and high visualization in 3D expertise at Gensler, you will work on exciting and complex architectural projects while utilizing cutting-edge technology to bring design concepts to life. You will play a key role in the creation of detailed BIM models and high-quality visualizations, contributing to the development of innovative design solutions and client presentations. You will collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, ensuring seamless integration of design, performance, and constructability.

What You Will Do 

• Develop, manage, and maintain BIM models throughout all phases of design and construction, ensuring accuracy and consistency in all project documentation.

• Produce high-quality 3D renderings, visualizations, and animations to communicate design concepts and ideas to clients, stakeholders, and project teams.

• Integrate parametric and digital thinking as part of the design storytelling for our design teams

• Lead and contribute to cultural, process-driven and technical training in practice.

• Help create a brand and ecosystem for Design Technology.

• Collaborate closely with project teams, including architects, engineers, consultants, and contractors, to ensure BIM standards are adhered to and that the models are efficiently integrated into the overall project workflow.

• Coordinate with project managers and design leaders to ensure that design intent is maintained throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptualization to final construction.

• Assist in the creation of detailed drawings, documentation, and presentation materials using BIM tools, Revit, 3Ds Max, or other design and visualization software.

• Stay up to date with emerging trends and technologies in BIM, digital modeling, and architectural visualization to continuously enhance the design process and deliverables.

• Participate in project reviews and presentations to clients, providing feedback and suggestions to improve design and coordination.

• Maintain a high level of quality control throughout the project, ensuring that all BIM models and visualizations meet Gensler’s standards for excellence.

• Assist with the design and delivery of the architectural and/or technical aspects of a project.

• Providing project team coordination for the finished plans, specification, and material selections required for construction. 

• Preparing and ensuring accuracy of technical documents 

• Support communication between project team, clients, vendors, contractors, consultants, and building and permitting officials. 

Your Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Architecture or Interior Design or foreign equivalent. 

• 4- 8 years of project experience in an architectural practice. 

• Strong leadership, communications and relationship management skills. 

• Construction documentation and/or design detail development experience. 

• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. 

• Strong organizational skills. 

• Has the ability to maintain existing client relationships and build new client relation. 

• 100% bilingual English/Spanish, well written with excellent verbal communication skills. 

• Proficiency in REVIT, Sketch Up, Photoshop, InDesign, and Microsoft office. 

• Additional software skills in AutoCAD, 3d Max, Illustrator, Rhino, Grasshopper, and Autodesk Certified are a plus.
