Job Description

Bold is the leading healthy aging platform, offering personalized, evidence-based exercise programs for Medicare members that help prevent falls, reduce musculoskeletal pain and disability, and increase physical activity levels. Innovative Medicare health plans and provider groups rely on Bold to deliver engaging, clinically sound exercise programs that members love to use and that achieve significant health outcomes. Bold is backed by leading investors, including Rethink Impact, Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, GingerBread Capital, Primetime Partners, and Maveron.

Bold is looking for our first in-house Designer focused on marketing, to create engaging, delightful content that attracts members, educates prospective customers, and helps advance our mission of supporting older adults as they age.

To help us achieve our mission, we are looking to hire a Designer who will work cross-functionally with Sales, Product, Clinical, and Marketing colleagues to create content that drives business growth. You will have ample latitude to experiment with new formats and media as you help shape an affirming, inclusive brand that brings people together.

This is a Part-time 1099 contract role located in LA and will report to our Director of Marketing and Communications.

As a key member of our team, here’s what you’ll do:

Key Outcomes:

  • Serve as design partner to Bold’s B2C marketing functions (content, lifecycle, and acquisition) designing emails, ads, landing pages, social media graphics, direct mail, and other assets that educate prospective members about their benefits and motivate current members to make the most of their Bold membership
  • Assist in creative iteration & development testing for user acquisition efforts across Meta Ads, Google Ads, Apple Search ads and other platforms on a weekly basis, being a key player in building a design flywheel
  • Collaborate with Bold’s enterprise Growth team on sales enablement collateral that helps Bold stand out in a crowded competitive landscape, including sales decks, one pagers, case studies, white papers, and other formats

The most important skills for the role are*:

  • 3+ years of experience working as a multimedia designer for startups, high-growth enterprises, or other corporate or institutional clients that advance a mission similar to ours at Bold — to advance healthy aging for older adults everywhere
  • Design tools experience: Skilled with common tools including Adobe Creative Suite and Figma, as well as Google Workspace, and Microsoft Office
  • Basic video editing: with a particular focus on creating social media content that is engaging and informative
  • Cross-team collaboration: experience working with Sales and Growth teams to create campaign materials that drive commercial outcomes, including lead generation and revenue realization
  • Organization & Planning: Experience building processes to deliver a significant volume of creatives on an ongoing basis
  • Scrappiness: showcases your passion for Bold’s mission, while able to be detail-oriented, proactive, never missing a deadline

In addition to the above, it would be great if you also had:

  • Experience with motion graphics
  • Experience in a fast paced startup environment

*We know people from historically underrepresented communities are less likely to apply if they don’t meet all of the above criteria. Please apply anyway! We want people who are fast learners, eager to take on new challenges and will help us build a best in class company that will change what it means to age.

Interested? Great! Here’s what you should know:

At Bold we know that our people are indispensable to achieving our mission, and we are building an inclusive environment that enables everyone to do their best work. In that spirit, we deliberately hire people from all walks of life — including, but not limited to, race, gender identity, sexual orientation and disability status. If you’re motivated by our mission and eager to contribute to our team and culture, we’d love to hear from you.

Compensation:

We’re committed to an inclusive, consistent, and equitable approach to compensation and anticipate that this position will earn between $40-50/hour. The exact rate will depend on the amount of relevant and transferable experience you bring to the role.
