Development Lead - Security

Introduction
The IBM mainframe (Z Systems) is responsible for most credit card transactions and is used by the many of the top insurers banks retailers and airlines.
IBM z/VM® is an operating system with highly secure and scalable hypervisor and virtualization technology designed to run Linux® z/OS® z/VSE® and z/TPF virtual machines as well as Red Hat® OpenShift® on IBM zSystems™ and IBM LinuxONE servers. z/VM provides a highly secure and scalable environment for efficiently running critical Linux applications with support for more Linux virtual servers than any other platform in a single footprint.
The z/VM team is a worldwide team primarily located in Poughkeepsie NY with expansion plans in Bangalore India. All phases of the software life cycle are performed within this team including the design development test performance as well as supporting the product in the field with customers. Agile methodologies are used throughout the life cycle.
We are looking for qualified software engineer candidates to be part of our IBM Z Systems team to help us take z/VM virtualization to the next level on the mainframe.

Your Role and Responsibilities

• Associate with Product Manager Chief Product owner and other engineering teams in deciphering the customer requirements/ problems into to product requirements and developing High level design.
• As a technical leader of the team – act as the technical liaison representing the component areas location and work with geographically distributed engineering team.
• As a Product owner – guide Mentor & Coach junior members in the team to achieve desired results/objects to accelerate product delivery.
• Able to present the Product features offering in the internal and external tech events conferences and conferences.
• Being a technical leader work closely with Management team in bring the Quality and continuous improvement and assist in the hiring activities.
• Participate as a key member on architecture related discussions to ensure technology decisions are aligning to the business/team needs.
• Identify the skills needs/gaps for the team and collaborate with management in developing expertise for the team.
• Translate Technical specification or customer requirements – Ensures all design decisions are evaluated analytically and in a systematic manner in accordance with approved processes and procedures.
• Work with peer Product Owners Architects and Managers to project the status of the tasks at hand as well as propose any implementation changes beneficial to the overall product

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
Required Technical and Professional Expertise with relevant experience of 12-15 years in working with Unix/Linux based products developed using C or C++ programming language.
Must to have:

• Minimum 4 – 5 years of experience in leading development or support teams and translating Technical specification or customer requirements Preparing of HLD/LLD and Working closely with Team members in translating the Specifications /design into product deliverables.
• Miinimum 5+ year of experience in design developing identity and access management(IAM) RBAC solutions
• Must have knowledge of virtualisation Operating systems internals and Hypervisor (kVM z/VM Hyper-V vSphere vCenter)
• Familiar with developing security product and solutions adhering to the standards – GDPR HIPPA PCI NIST FIPS or other relevant regulations.

Good to have:

• experience in leading development or support teams to develop manage products.
• Proven experience supporting data security and/or application security projects as a Business Systems or Requirements Analyst.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and architect the security modules or solutions that align with Product/compliance requirements.
• Good understanding of Enterprise patches hotfixes and security configurations.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to effectively communicate product architectures design proposals and negotiate options at senior management levels.
• Experience in working with global teams/partner labs.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Proven track record of defining and implement data protection strategies data loss prevention encryption and rights management to safeguard sensitive information.
• Experience in the field of information security including vulnerability assessment static and dynamic code analysis security requirements risk assessment.
• Solid architectural knowledge of IBM Z Hardware and Firmware
• Experience with Mainframe technologies like Sysplex REXX and s/390 Assembly
• Experience in configuring and managing the mainframe security products utilizing ACF2 and RACF.
