Job Description

Acumen is looking for a detailed-oriented individual with 1-3 years’ experiences in administration, operations, events, and/or fundraising to support the Development & Partnerships team. This role is based in our New York office and will report to the Development & Partnerships Operations Manager. We work in a hybrid model and are in the office 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).

About the Role
This role is designed to support the operations, fundraising, and events of the Development & Partnerships (DP) team. It’s an ideal role for a self-starter who enjoys details, is curious and analytical, and is comfortable managing both up and across teams. The primary responsibilities are:

  • Lead on institutional and individual prospecting research in collaboration with relationship managers. 
  • Create Salesforce reports and analyze data to inform fundraising and event trends; research and map giving trends and share findings with the wider team.
  • Provide event coordination and support in partnership with the Communications team--including managing attendee data and invites using tools such as Splash and Salesforce.
  • Lead monthly payment entry and acknowledgement process to recognize donors.
  • Contribute to the DP Operations team through sharing best practices, processes, etc.
  • Be willing to contribute outside of these areas as needed. There will likewise be opportunities to explore and contribute to other areas of Acumen’s work that align with your personal or professional interests.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 1 - 3 years of relevant internship or work experience in fundraising, events, grants, operations, or relationship management.
  • Operational skills such as problem solving and project management, including the ability to work and deliver projects independently, proactively, and within deadlines.
  • Exceptional collaboration and teamwork skills.
  • A basic understanding of financial concepts such as revenue and cash and/or nonprofit operating is a plus.
  • Familiarity with CRM systems such as Salesforce is a plus.
  • Self-reflective and aligned with Acumen values.
  • Bachelor's Degree is required.
  • Permanent authorization to work in the U.S.

The salary range for this role is $58,300-$67,400 plus a performance-based bonus. This range represents the present low and high end of pay range for this role. Actual compensation will vary based on various factors including but not limited to experience. Acumen has equal pay, so pay is determined through comparison to a cohort of employees in market at the same level of accountability.
