DevOps Build Engineer

Your Role and Responsibilities
Your role will be front-line on the Developer Experience Platform. You will work with a team of DevOps engineers providing CI/CD platform for Software Engineers delivering the world-class DNS SaaS products from IBM. You will work with the engineering team to identify and resolve development and deployment bottlenecks; provide expert guidance on ways to improve workflows and increase stability of the deployment pipeline.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise
• 5+ years of experience which includes:
– whdefining and managing CI pipelines for SaaS application
– Automation mindset with a bias to action
– Cloud deployment practices in AWS or GPC or Azure
– Distributed containerized application deployments
– bash and python scripting expertise
– Container orchestration expertise (Kubernetes preferred)
– Experience with Jenkins Github Actions or similar CI tools
– Supply chain management (SCM)
– Managing multiple development/build environments including local integration and production
– Building software to contribute into development/enhancement of the build system

• Ability to work in a team that is distributed globally
• A customer focused attitude toward the engineering team partnering with engineers to resolve build and deployment challenges

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
• Knowledge of Intenet protocols such as TCP/IP DNS BGP
• Experience with distributed services
• Automated testing platform experience
