We are seeking a skilled DevOps engineer to join our IBM development team. As part of our team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages.

The Z Software AI team is looking for DevOps engineer who shows the initiative and thrive at tackling problems. As part of our team you will be responsible for developing and maintaining high-quality software products working with a variety of technologies and programming languages. As a DevOps developer you will contribute on an exceptional DevOps Engineering team. You will work in a Kubernetes based micro services environment to support our bleeding edge cloud services. This will include custom solutions as well as open source DevOps tools (build and deploy automation monitoring and data gathering for our software delivery pipeline). You will also be contributing to our continuous improvement and continuous delivery while increasing maturity of DevOps and agile adoption practices.

What You’ll Do:

• You’ll work in a dynamic collaborative environment to understand requirements design code and test innovative AI solutions and demonstrate these solutions to our clients.
• You’ll integrate with other teams across IBM to identify and build AI solutions that infuse and incorporate into Z Software portfolio.
• You’ll employ IBM’s Design Thinking to validate user scenarios to develop solutions with high performance security quality and stability.

Skills you will develop:

• An understanding of AI technologies (especially foundation and Large Language Models (LLM))
• Tackling the challenges of training testing benchmark and validating AI generated content and code.
• Becoming familiar with the business applications of AI and how the Watsonx platform brings value to IBM clients.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

• 8+ years of professional experience working as devops hands on experience with shell scripts and configuration management systems (chef ansible terraform etc.) building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines
• 3+ years of experience operating kubernetes clusters or RedHat Openshift Platform
• 3+ Experience with at least 1 cloud provider from AWS IBMCloud Azure or GCP.
• Linux or UNIX development
• Strong IT networking skills
• Solid Experience with gitops architecture and tools
• Proficiency in Languages/Skills: Bash Tekton Python Go Java Node.js C Swagger JSON CTD Grafana for software development and automation scripting
• Proficiency in automation tools such as Jenkins AnsibleTekton Terraform
• Experience developing software with golang specially if writing kubernetes operators.
• Experience on security and compliance working with security scanning tools and validating the software supply chain of software
• Experience in developing implementing and maintaining software scripts programs and code to automate tasks and control systems.
• Experience in developing automation strategies and designing automated systems that meet the specific requirements of the organization.
• Experience with JIRA and Agile processes
• Strong communication logical thinking and analytical skills.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

• Understanding of test automation frameworks and integrations with multiple tools.
• Experience with prometheus metrics
• Experience setting up observability systems based on opentelemetry or other tools.
• Has exposure to Open Source (adoption and contributions)
• Experience in z/OS and mainframe technologies.
• Knowledge/hands on skills in COBOL Assembler programming Job Control Language (JCL) Restructured Extended Executor language (REXX) IBM IMS (Information Management System) PL/I programming language is plus
• Skilled at defining test strategies that can include AI and non AI solutions
