The mission of a DevOps Engineer is to operate, maintain, and troubleshoot the data and machine learning platforms that our customers rely on to run their business. No day is exactly the same on the Managed Services team and you'll need to learn new technologies in a fast-changing technology landscape. Great DevOps Engineers show ownership of tasks, pager incidents, and customer problems from end-to-end. They care about understanding the root causes of technology issues and finding out how to prevent the issue from happening again. 

• The platforms and infrastructure you're operating will vary ranging from distributed data platforms like Cloudera, to open source tools, to custom applications and data pipelines built on top of the platform. 
• Drive to goals and milestones while valuing and maintaining a strong attention to detail
• Collaborate, sustain and improve the process of knowledge sharing throughout the engineering team.
• Self-motivated;  possesses excellent time management and organizational skills
• Ability to learn and apply new technologies through self-learning

Required Experience: 

• Previous experience as a DevOps Engineer or Linux Administrator or Oracle DBA
• Experience required is between 2 to 3 years.
• Candidate should come from an administration background and should already be working in a 24*7 environment.
• Production experience with big data & ML technologies (e.g. Spark, Impala, S3, Kudu, Streamsets, NiFi, ElasticSearch, Cloudera, Databricks, Snowflake, Dataiku)
• Administration: Managing and monitoring distributed systems and middleware application performance; recommend, configure and optimize Hadoop ecosystem
• Deep understanding of Cloudera Manager.
• Configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning of Java applications
• Working knowledge of SQL and the ability to write, debug, and optimize distributed SQL queries
• Experience in Linux OS configuration, administration and performance optimization with an emphasis on distributed computing
• Experience integrating Linux OS with user authentication backend (LDAP/Active Directory)
• Proficiency in implementing security controls, including authentication and authorization, encryption on the wire and at rest, and high availability
• Experience with Python (Anaconda), Bash, or another modern scripting or programming language
• Expertise in system/application automation and deployment using Ansible or another modern configuration management system
• Basic understanding and exposure to Git or another enterprise Source Control system
• Exposure to building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines or workflows using technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, Airflow, Jenkins, Rundeck or other open source codebases
• Experience with deploying and operating solutions built on an enterprise public cloud, like AWS or Azure
• Ability to learn new technologies in a quickly changing
