Job Summary: The DevOps Engineer is involved in all aspects of the Cloud transformation process to create a bridge between development and operations by applying a software engineering mindset to system administration situations. You will be responsible for not only supporting and maintaining the Cloud platform, but you will take an active part in improving the solutions using modern containerization and Serverless technologies and Infrastructure as Code.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Directly responsible for the uptime of client infrastructure and applications - including availability, latency, performance, efficiency, change management, monitoring, emergency response, and capacity planning.
- Owning end-to-end availability and performance of key services and build automation to prevent problem recurrence.
- Assist on all current manual deployments and alerts handling processes.
- Assisting in the roll-out and deployment of new product features and installations.
- Finding scalability bottlenecks and areas for performance improvements.
- Create and maintain the required levels of documentation for the solutions produced.
- Triaging and solving service issues and outages.
- Design and planning of AWS cloud solutions (Network security groups, WAF, Site to site VPN's, EC2 instances, containers, Serverless architecture).
- Participate in Ops Drills in driving operational effectiveness strategies and transformation savings.
- Comply with Cubic's values and adherence to all company policy and procedures. In particular, comply with the code of conduct, quality, security and occupational health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
- In addition to the duties and responsibilities listed, the job holder is required to perform other duties assigned by their manager from time-to-time, as may be reasonably required of them.
Job Requirements:
- Experience in DevOps and System Administration.
- Experience working in an agile environment.
- Platform: AWS, Linux and Windows operating systems.
- Experience creating and deploying infrastructure as code using automation scripts.
- Experience of continuous integration/continuous delivery and deployment tools such as AWS CodeDeploy, Jenkins, and BitBucket Pipelines.
- Experience with scripting and deployment automation.
- Experience administering Linux and Windows operating systems.
Desirable:
- AWS Certified DevOps Engineer - Associate.
- Networking and interfacing - experience of multiple environments.
- Software development tools - Visual Studio and gcc and associated build scripts.
- Jira - used within a team practicing scrum.
- Understanding of enterprise system architectures.
- Experience with both on-premise and cloud environments.
- Secure Development Lifecycle - a working understanding of Secure Development to enable assisting with such projects.
Education
- Bachelor of Science degree in computer science or related field plus four years of experience, or equivalent professional experience.

(Colorado only*) Targeted full-time salary range between $118,317-$138,355+ benefits.
