Diesel Technician

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician / Mechanic to join our Distribution business in Rocky Hill, CT.

You will make an impact in the following ways:

• Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop
• Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools
• Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles
• Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies
• Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products
• Maintain own tools

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Intermediate):

• Completes complex internal engine repairs
• Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision

(Advanced):

• Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools
• Larger more complicated engine rebuilds
• Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation Education, Licenses, Certifications: Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred) Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution Locally valid driving permit (Preferred) This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations. Experience: Intermediate level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

QUALIFICATIONS

Hours Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm Hours are subject to change due to business needs

This is a union position and candidate will need to join union

• A CDL may be required to obtain upon hire
• Federal law requires a CDL holder to be 21 years of age or older
• This position is subject to Federal Transit Administration random and pre-employment drug testing requirements. This roll will be subject to on-going random drug and alcohol testing.
