The position
The library seeks an experienced, user-focused candidate for the position of Digital Reference Librarian serving Organon as a member of the R&D organization providing reference and instructional services to the organization. The librarian will work collaboratively and independently to contribute to the goals and strategic direction of the library by educating and engaging users and promoting best in class information practices.
- Responding to reference and research questions
- Providing ongoing marketing, outreach, and training efforts to new hires, company acquisitions, and R&D teams.
- Responsible for the maintenance, promotion, and tracking of existing licensed library resources and making recommendations about current and future resources
- Maintain the library website
- Track product improvements
- Track library usage and engagement and prepare reports/slide decks for library staff and senior leadership
- Build relationships across the organization to promote information literacy
- Familiarity with digital library tools, database systems, and search strategy specific to the pharmaceutical industry
- Experience in social media platforms
- Experience with libguides
- Sharepoint and website design experience
- Project management experience
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities
- Experience with information and knowledge management
Qualifications
This role combines traditional information retrieval skills with cutting-edge data science to revolutionize healthcare information management through AI and automation.
- 5+ years experience in information science and systems, pharmaceutical or medical librarianship a plus
- Experience in digital platforms, data/systems integration, AI, automation and digital dashboards
- Master’s degree in Library/Information Science from an ALA-accredited degree program or equivalent.

The applicable salary range for this position in the U.S. is stated below. Benefits offered in the U.S. include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation and holiday time, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits including medical, prescription drug, dental, and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans.
Annualized Salary Range (US)
$92,400.00 - $157,100.00
