Pratt & Whitney, a Raytheon Technologies Company, is looking for an Azure SQL Jr. DBA to join our Digital Technology (DT) Digital Manufacturing Applications team.

This individual will be involved in the delivery of designing, developing, enhancing, and implementing software solutions within Pratt & Whitney's enterprise Manufacturing Execution System (MES) solutions, as well as integrations with other enterprise products for our internal Operations customers.

This role will support the troubleshooting of problems related to PW's MES, resolving systems integration and compatibility issues, and supporting the application life cycle Center of Excellence.

The position is based remotely and due to customer locations in different time zones, customer meetings can occur outside normal business work hours.

The Digital Manufacturing team at Pratt and Whitney is looking for a highly motivated, self-starter who will be excited in delivering digital solutions within our MES & MOM enterprise platform as it relates to supporting our manufacturing sites, engine centers, and aftermarket operations worldwide. Specific focus includes the health and performance of backend Azure SQL databases. Current strategic activities include engaging with; long-term roadmaps for MES, deploying next-gen solutions, new site implementations, and integrating with new technologies for IIOT and Industry 4.0

Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Optimizing Azure SQL database for an enterprise shop floor application.
• Managing daily operations of multiple production databases on Azure cloud.
• Working with Terraform scripts to build cloud SQL services.
• Technical and functional problem solving.
• Production and end user support, where applicable.
• Supporting integration with other enterprise solutions.
• Working with internal/external teams and business partners, to architect and build system solutions for using the latest technologies to satisfy requirements.
• Work on multiple projects simultaneously with regular reporting in a gated process.
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Author system requirements, technical design documentation
• Technical skills of MS SQL products.
• Ensuring compliance with RTX / PW policies & procedures.

Basic Qualifications:

• BS degree required with 5+ years of relevant experience OR a Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• US Citizenship required due to government contracts.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 1-3+ years of relevant experience in design and development of data systems (SQL Server based on Cloud/on premise and Analytics) at enterprise scale.
• Primary technical expertise in SQL Server, Azure SQL Database, Azure AKS.
• 1-3+ years' experience in Computer Science, MIS, Business, Engineering, or related field.
• Microsoft Certifications in SQL Server, Azure SQL database and/or related technologies.
• Experience with Azure cloud services - Azure Storage, Azure VNET, Azure VMs.
• Experience with NoSQL technologies such as MongoDB, Document DBExperience in Data Visualization tools like Power BI, SSRS, or equivalent.
• Must be hands on, deeply technical and exposure to latest features within SQL Server, able to do both Azure administration and know Kubernetes.
• Team player with strong follow up skills and ability to craft positive relationships.
• Detail oriented, analytical and able to trace problems.
• Strong communication skills.
• Relishes orchestrating and organizing initiatives and processes.
• Excellent judgment and professional business maturity.
• Strong working knowledge Microsoft Office.
• Self-starter with the ability to spot potential for process improvement.
• Knowledge of other manufacturing solutions is a plus, but not required.
