Director, Accounting

This role is eligible for our hybrid work model: Two days in-office.

From accounting and financial planning to risk/fraud analysis and payments, our Finance team ensures not only our company's financial security, but also that our customers can buy from us with confidence.

Why this job's a big deal:

This individual will serve as an integral member of the General Ledger team supporting all of Priceline's businesses ensuring the accurate and timely submission of our results as well as ensuring appropriate controls around the related processes.

The successful candidate will possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and Booking Holdings (Parent Company).

In this role you will get to:

  • Partner with the Assistant Controller and lead an accurate and timely month-end close and related financial reporting for our legal entities
  • Manage and support a team of at least 5 at various levels including the review of journal entries, account reconciliations and the execution of SOX Controls
  • Responsible for the oversight of our deferred revenue accounts for all our businesses including the review of journal entries, reconciliations and troubleshooting discrepancies as they arise
  • Coordinate and oversee our departmental accruals during the monthly close and partner with various departments within Priceline
  • Manage and support several of our key revenue accruals as well as key reserves related to accounts receivable
  • Oversee cash and all of its related functions ensuring journal entries are recorded timely and accurately, in addition ensuring all reconciling items are cleared within a timely manner
  • Assist in leading the team through a ERP integration as we migrate into S4 over the next year and help design and stabilize our new processes
  • Partner with our financial planning and analysis team, helping them understand our results and explaining variances to plan/forecast
  • Responsible for analyzing and reviewing specific accounts and providing robust commentary on these fluctuations as well as reviewing the team's explanations, ensuring appropriateness of commentary
  • Assist with documenting and performing internal controls and ensuring they are effectively maintained for assigned tasks.
  • Assist with interim and year-end audit procedures
  • Recommend improvements to the efficiency of accounting processes and timeliness of deliverables
  • Assist with requests from the Priceline GL team, risk and controls, internal audit, and Booking Holdings, Inc. among other ad hoc requests

Who you are:

  • Possess the communication skills and business acumen necessary to interact with multiple teams within Priceline and Booking Holdings (Parent Company).
  • Have 12+ years of related professional experience, preferably within a $1B+ public company and/or Big 4 accounting firm.
  • BS in a related discipline required, MBA preferred
  • CPA preferred
  • Supervisory experience, including coaching and mentoring members of the team either directly or indirectly
  • Experience with BlackLine, Oracle, OneStream and SAP S/4 HANA desired, Excel proficiency required
  • Demonstrated ability to multitask and meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment
  • Strong analytical skills and detail oriented
  • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills

There are a variety of factors that go into determining a salary range, including but not limited to external market benchmark data, geographic location, and years of experience sought/required. In addition to a competitive base salary, certain roles may be eligible for an annual bonus and/or equity grant.

The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $190,000.

Flexible work at Priceline

Priceline is following a hybrid working model, which includes two days onsite as determined by you and your manager (ideally selecting among Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday). On the remaining days, you can choose to be remote or in the office.
