What you will do
The Director, Building Solutions North America (BSNA) IT Operations Leader will lead a team responsible for the delivery of operations to JCI BSNA Operations. In the position, the Director is expected to represent the Global Operations Technology team to JCI BSNA, support an application portfolio, ensure service delivery targets are met, manage business unit expectations and provide leadership of major incidents. This role is key to ensuring rock solid operations are delivered in support of our business goals.
How you will do it
- You will manage a global team who provide application and infrastructure support
- Build a high functioning team of operations professionals, including hiring, training, and performance evaluations
- Manage and support a portfolio of applications to enable business units
- Develop and implement strategies for improving the reliability, security, and performance of our IT systems and services
- Work with senior leadership to identify and prioritize Global Operations initiatives to support the company's business objectives
- Manage relationships and agreements with vendors and service providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of IT services
- Ensure compliance with all policies and industry standards related to IT operations
- Manage a budget which includes people, managed services, software and hardware expenses

- Stability and reliability of the systems you operate will be continuously improving and measured by key metrics.
- Your stakeholders, including the regional and business unit CIO's, will be well informed on all Global Operations services, projects and initiatives.
- Regional application portfolios are well understood and supported
- Systems and services are compliant with policy and best practice, easily passing yearly internal audits.
Qualifications
What we look for
- A technology leader with a proven track record of delivering technology services
- Prior experience in critical globally delivered services and operations
- 10+ years' relevant professional experience, including 7+ years' managing highly technical teams in a rapidly shifting, deadline-oriented environment.
- Proven capacity to set and meet short and long-term objectives for individuals and entire departments.
- Must perform well under tight deadlines and be able to adapt to changing priorities quickly and effectively.
- Ability to work effectively autonomously as well as in a team environment to achieve common goals.
- Outstanding verbal, written and interpersonal communication capabilities.
