Responsibilities:• Responsible for marketing Webster's derivative platform to commercial bank customers in line with the overall commercial bank strategy (key internal stakeholder)• Take ownership of a sub vertical(s) or vertical(s) of the Commercial Bank that involves having knowledge and experience of our entire product set• Be proactive on every aspect of the role and build, maintain and develop long term sustainable relationships with RMs and customers at every opportunity• Achieve individual financial target and assist overall team in achieving its financial target • Can work independently on transactions but have knowledge of when to bring in other team members for advice on any aspect of a transaction and can use experience and judgement when needed and provide solutions to issues• Foster a collaborative approach to working with customers in conjunction with RMs• Develop business in relation to new clients / opportunities or new products with existing clients in the commercial bank via attending relevant commercial bank pipeline meetings, being in constant contact with relationship managers, providing content, being part of attending joint or solo business development customer calls presentations• Know how to identify a derivative opportunity • Have a good working relationship with all internal stakeholders to the business • Investigate and document all opportunities (deals funded) within the Commercial Bank in relation to responsibilities in point 1• Provide ongoing relationship management to existing customers within the commercial bank portfolio • Structure, price and execute on interest rate and FX derivatives with customers and interbank counterparties • Be up to speed on the interest rate markets and be able to communicate updates to customers as part of business development and relationship management • From time to time, be involved and have input into desk projects that will impact / improve the business • Think every day: How do I enhance the customer, RM and other stakeholder experiences to achieve a pro rata or greater share of ancillary business • Be well organized / managed all the time and have MIS fully up to date COB every Monday • Constantly try to improve existing skillset and build new skills / expertise • Think about and build knowledge around how derivatives affect Webster Bank from a credit risk, market risk, legal, operational, balance sheet, capital usage, reporting, regulatory perspective• Be a team player, providing back up to other team members when required • In line with desk policies and procedures, be able to onboard a client from a derivative opportunity perspective • Adhere to internal policy external regulations and keep up to speed on changes.
Education, Skill Experience:• BS required in Finance or Economics. Advanced degree preferred.• 10+ years of related experience in Finance or Economics.• Strong interpersonal skills, an understanding of financial instruments and capital markets, and strong excel skills required. Facility with Bloomberg and/or other financial systems preferred.
The estimated salary range for this position is $145,000 USD to $165,000 USD. Actual salary may vary up or down depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position is eligible for incentive compensation.
