The Role: 

Reporting to the VP of FP&A, the Director of FP&A will be an integral member of the Finance team leading the financial planning, analysis, and reporting functions, overseeing the development and management of our financial planning and budgeting process, and our three-statement financial model. This individual will serve as a key analytical and strategic business partner to senior leadership, using data to provide actionable business insights and recommendations to drive decision-making. This role requires a hands-on approach to building and maintaining robust financial models, experience in implementing and optimizing financial systems, and the ability to manage the evolution of our financial planning processes.  In addition, this role requires a passion for business partnering, people management, and fosters a culture of continuous improvement by identifying and implementing opportunities for scale and efficiency.

The Team:

FP&A Team currently consists of 5 team members and is hiring several roles to focus on scale and depth of analysis and business partnering.

  • VP FP&A
  • Director FP&A (this role) + Sr. Analyst. (key business partners: Operations, Product & Tech, G&A Functions)
  • Commercial FP&A - Sr. Manager, 2 Analysts (key business partners: Sales, Marketing, G&E)

 

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • 10 years of progressive experience in FP&A, with a demonstrated track record of success in high-growth, dynamic environment
  •  2-4 years managing FP&A teams and overseeing the financial planning process
  • Advanced financial modeling skills with the ability to collect, organize, and translate data into robust, comprehensive financial models, and synthesize analysis and insights to drive business decisions.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and business systems (financial ERP and FP&A planning tools (e.g. NetSuite, Adaptive, Anaplan or similar).
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities, with attention to detail and the ability to navigate ambiguous situations.
  • Ability to develop and/or improve processes, and work cross-functionally to influence decision making and implement change collaboratively across the organization.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a proven ability to present thoughtful analysis, insights, and recommendations clearly to senior leadership.
  • Exceptional organizational and time management skills, including the ability to prioritize and balance multiple deliverables with competing timelines in a dynamic environment
  • Must be a proactive self-starter with exceptional follow-through and the ability to work well independently with minor supervision
  • Passion for business partnering and data-driven decisions, with a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and scalability.
  • Results-oriented leadership and team management skills, with proven ability to develop, motivate, and retain high-performing teams.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing or optimizing financial planning software (i.e. Adaptive, Anaplan or similar tools)
  • Experience in venture-backed growth companies preferred; healthcare industry experience not required.



Compensation: 

Carrot offers a holistic Total Rewards package designed to support our employees in all aspects of their life inside and outside of work, including health and wellness benefits, retirement savings plans, short- and long-term incentives, parental leave, family-forming assistance, and a competitive compensation package. The starting base salary for this position will range from $175,000-$195,000. Actual compensation may vary from posted base salary depending on your confirmed job-related skills and experience.
